There are many things I love about Fridays and I have to say a good fish fry tops the list. There are so many important things to a good fish fry and for me it is the fish (of course), fries (can’t live without) and coleslaw (vinegar not mayo). Tom and I have our favorites in the area but feel nothing will ever compare to the fish we had in Dublin, Ireland. The pub we went to is called Davy Brynes, we stopped there for lunch and fell in love with the place. We had the Deep Fried Fillet of Plaice and tartar sauce, I had it with a cider beer and Tom had a Guinness. The breading was perfect and the fish was so moist. Delicious! Tonight we are going out for fish with Tom’s parents and celebrating his mom’s birthday. Can’t wait! Have a great weekend everyone!

The weekend was a success! After a lot of heavy lifting, many car loads of furniture and boxes across town and two full days of unpacking, we are in our house…well close. There are a few more things at the apartment that need to be moved (clothes, food and artwork) but throughout the week we plan to accomplish that. It has been so much fun figuring out where we will put everything and I’m sure things will get moved a few more times “just to see how they might look over here or over there!” Nala (our dog) seems to be excited about the extra running and playing space, but is a little unsure about the new location of all her stuff. I look forward to taking her for walks in our neighborhood and sitting out on our front porch with her.
Our next project is to remodel the bathroom. When we bought the house the bathroom had a lovely turquoise vanity and salmon toilet and tub with a drop down ceiling. Although it was very tempting to leave it 😉 it all had to go! We have taken everything out and hope to have everything done and installed in the next couple weeks. I can’t wait to have a new bathroom.
Movin’ In

About three months ago Tom and I closed on our first house, and this weekend we are finally moving in! We are so excited and can’t believe we have a house. We love the layout and the location. Our backyard is basically a park! The house didn’t need much work as far as remodeling goes but did need some updating. For the past month we have done A LOT of painting and installing new fixtures. We had a lot of help from family and are so thankful for everything they have done. Thanks guys! I love the way everything looks and can’t wait to get our stuff in. I will be posting some before and after pictures soon. February is not the best time to be moving so I’m hopeful it isn’t too cold and NO SNOW!
